Dry Bouquet
In my dream, Dustin Hoffman was visiting the Kangaroo House on Orcas Island where I was staying for a writing retreat. We needed to catch a ferry and I was helping him decide which would be the best one to take back to the mainland. Up to that point, I hadn't acknowledged his fame or that I knew who he was, so I leaned in and said, by the way, I love your movies. He thanked me and then I showed him on the ferry schedule and which boat he would need to be on. I told him I would accompany him to the ferry--help him negotiate the system. Then I realized that once I got back to the mainland, I would need a place to stay. And while I was arranging a place to stay for myself (I decided to stay the night on the island) Dustin picked a bouquet of sticks for me from the pots of plants lining the edge of the room. I was touched, even though I didn't know if the owner would approve.
